Letters to the EditorResponsible for dead Iraqis
The U.S. military could blow up the entire country of Iraq and still claim they are not responsible for all the dead civilians, thanks to their “perfect” war excuse: “We regret that civilians are hurt or killed while coalition forces search to rid Iraq of terrorism. Terrorists continue to deliberately place innocent Iraqi women and children in danger by their actions and presence.”

Only during the brainwash time we all call “war” can they get away with this crap. What sick geniuses they are.

So if a “terrorist” that the coalition is hunting down does not want to be responsible for civilian deaths that will happen when the coalition drops a bomb on him, his only option is to go stand alone in the middle of the desert. These are rather lofty and unrealistic expectations that the U.S. government is putting on the “terrorists.” In other words die like men you cowardly “terrorists”–stop hiding behind civilians, let us slaughter you in an unbalanced fight where we have all the firepower.

If all life if equal, how is it that the U.S. military could never kill American civilians and get away with it while hunting for “terrorists” on U.S. soil? And simply calling it “war” is not a sufficient answer.

Keep it organic, keep it local
The article on Oil vs. Soil (Pulse cover story–July 12) was outstanding. I raised my kids on organic produce and I think they are healthier because of it. We lived on two organic farms, Georgeville, in Minnesota, and Erewhon Farms in New Hampshire. At Erewhon they practically meditated over the crops. I picked 250 ears of corn which I dried in a slow oven for snacks. I don’t remember seeing any worms. They planted certain plants next to other plants, and used seaweed spray for fertilizer.

My fisherman friend brought back a cupcake-sized hard lump of oil from Alaska after the Valdez spill. He said the flowers bloomed around these oil deposits ... I don’t want oil in my food.
