The Black Dog inspires creativity -- its high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious tables encourage daydreaming, journaling, doodling and other precursors to art making.

Kiss of the Spider Woman
Wednesday 23 May @ 13:43:53
Hot TicketsMinneapolis Musical Theatre

The Minneapolis Musical Theatre will present the rarely-seen musical, “Kiss of the Spider Woman” from June 1 through June 24 at Hennepin Stages (formerly Hey City Theater) in downtown Minneapolis.

“Kiss of the Spider Woman” explores the complex relationship between two men caged together in a Latin American prison for very different reasons. Valentin dreams of his girlfriend and the revolution he once led, while Molina, a gay window-dresser, spins a fantastic yarn of romance and intrigue about Aurora, a B-movie actress. And when the Spider Woman comes to glorious musical life, the production casts a spell that is breathtaking, heartfelt and profound. “Kiss of the Spider Woman” opens June 1 and plays Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through June. 24. An additional performance has been added for Monday, June 18. The performance on Saturday, June 9 will be American Sign Language interpreted, and a post-show audience discussion will be held following the performance on Thursday, June 14. Performances are at 7:30 p.m., except the final June 24 show, which is scheduled as a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $24; to order call 612-673-0404 or go to ticketmaster.com, aboutmmt.org.
