Everyone invited to counter-inauguration Jan. 20
I’m planning to go to Washington on January 20 to give Bush this message: MANDATE, MY ASS: HITLER WAS ELECTED, TOO! A big protest presence is being very creatively organized by several groups based in Washington. Some are going with the idea of offering Bush a brunch. Does he like eggs? Tomatoes? You get the picture. Others have the less aggressive but perhaps more effective idea of Turn Your Back on Bush—when he gets to the podium, everyone turns their backs and then walks out.
I urge everyone who can to go to Washington if possible. For the millions of anti-Bush,
anti-war people who can’t go, a good alternative is to organize where you
are. Connect with Twin Cities groups who are organizing. In the states of Washington
and Oregon, in Washington, D.C., and in other places, one-day school strikes
are being planned. This is a tactic with a great tradition in modern U.S. history
and has a good chance of success in many Twin Cities high schools and universities.
We can’t let these bastards murder in our name any more. See you in the
crowd!
