Response to Dayton’s attack on Feingold I totally support the [Feingold] Resolution, and if I were in Sen. Dayton’s seat, I would stand shoulder to shoulder with Sen. Feingold. I cannot believe the utter cowardice of the leaders of the Democratic Party, especially those in the Senate, who refuse to join Sen. Feingold in his perfectly justified motion for censure of the President by the Senate.
Michael Cavlan
Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate
Open letter to Sen. Dayton
You
did not explain WHY you think Sen.
Feingold’s resolution to censure President Bush is “dangerous,”
making your opposition to it inexplicable.
G.W. Bush has LIED to Congress and the nation about the reasons for war; he’s
continued to be evasive about the Plame “outing;” threats were made
to keep government officials from informing Congress about the actual cost of
Bush’s drug bill; Bush has authorized torture, which is against U.S. and
international law; he’s also authorized kidnapping (aka rendition) to
other countries for torture.
Bill Clinton simply lied about adultery and was IMPEACHED.
What is truly DANGEROUS, Sen.
Dayton, is an Executive Branch run amok without any restraint and a Congress
that just goes along with a President no matter how many laws he breaks.
Sen. Feingold has exercised courage
and REAL LEADERSHIP by presenting this resolution. Your stand is more evidence
that Americans can NOT count on the Democratic Party to be any sort of real
opposition party—yet, our votes continue to be extorted by the Democrats.
No wonder so many people don’t vote at all!

Pay attention
Record-breaking tornadoes early in the season. Record hurricanes with greater
intensity caused by a warmer ocean and atmosphere. Greenhouse gas production
around the world is accelerating especially in the United States, with leaders
in complete denial. People tooling around in oversized wasteful SUVs are looking
more reckless and criminal everyday. Meanwhile our state legislators debate
how many millions will go to new stadiums. If people are not outraged, they’re
not paying attention.

Green respods to Phil Willkie
I believe, as a fellow Green, we must allow a fellow party member
a chance to fully explain his declarations; such as what experience and stature
one must have to justifiably declare one's candidacy for a Federally elected
position.
Mr. Willkie
is entitled to his opinions of a man and a campaign, but he should not make
them unless he explains himself. The statement, "Not a Credible Candidate"
ranks below calling a candidate a criminal or a liar, and such charges should
not be leveled unless they are explained or backed up. Luckily for Mr. Willkie,
the so called dysfunctional Greens do adhere to the most important of the 10-Key
Values; Nonviolence, otherwise, in another party, he might find himself with
a bloody nose.
Mr.
Willkie is operating under the incorrect assumption that Mike Cavlan is
acting like he is "the" Green Party endorsed Candidate for US Senate.
As the volunteer Press Contact for the Cavlan Campaign, I have attended numerous
campaign meeting and not once have we taken the endorsement as a given. What
Mr. Willkie has been perceiving is a candidate for the US Senate who is showing
confidence in his message. A Green who is not afraid to doggedly declare the
Green message against our nation's militarism, lack of universal single payer
health care, corporate campaign influence, and the right to have your vote counted
correctly.
Experience? How many current, credible US Senate candidates or Green Minnesotan's
cared for the burn victims from the 9-11 Pentagon attack as FEMA RN Burn Unit
nurse Mike Cavlan did? Can any credible US Senate candidate claim to have been
arrested trying to stop our local Alliant Tech from making Depleted Uranium
munitions which inflict horrific health results on our soldiers, war victims
and their offspring? Did they volunteer for the 2004 Ohio recount and witness
first hand the computerized election machines being tampered with? After those
experiences, do you stand by or do step up and plan to help save the Republic?
No.
He started an exploratory committee to run for the Senate. I sat in on my first
Campaign Committee meeting in Feb 05. When the Downing Street Memos were leaked
in May, and the Congress passed the Federal I. D. Act, I pleaded with Mike to
make his announcement official. I was the one who made him jump in early. I
am proud he did. Otherwise, even the MN Capitol Press Core would not have know
that all Americans would have to submit to an iris scan for a Drivers License
so that they would qualify to board a plane or enter a Federal building in 2007.
Was the Committee to Elect Mike Cavlan ready? No! But American Citizens' rights
were being taken away and our President had lied to Congress. Nobody from the
DFL or Green Party from Minnesota was willing to stand up and sound the alarm
bells.
Stature? Must you adhere to a set of unpublished rules for the ladder of ascent
in the Green Party? Are we as Greens to act as Minneapolis Democrats and wait
our turn? I think not.
Mr. Willkie,
direct your criticism towards the Committee
to Elect Mike Cavlan for the US Senate, instead of Mr. Cavlan. We are the
citizens trying to change this country and all would be the first to admit that
we are not doing everything right. We all are working day jobs, with no Major
Party or Minor Party money to be had. Not one elected or previously elected
Green has stepped forward to stand with us, that is true. For the record, we
have not asked. Regardless, I do not level judgment on their political calculus.
I do wonder sometimes why Greens at times can act so righteous. To quote David
Cobb, "What you call a problem, I call participation".
What I do not understand is the dismissal of a person who cares so deeply about
what is happening to this country. The man has little personal financial resources,
Green support, or extended family support, yet he has the determination of a
certain underdog senate candidate of years gone by. Do not forget that Michael
Cavlan witnessed the police state of Northern Ireland and what it did to it's
citizenry. He knows what can result and does not want that to happen here. He
could not just sit by and wait for the perfect moment to run.
The
DFL Bell supporters are sure to be
shut out of the process, and will come to realize who can champion their beliefs
very soon, and maybe even before Mr. Willkie. Then the DFL old guard will begin
their nervous breathing while Mr. Willkie will wonder why he waited so long
to get behind a candidate that stands for his beliefs.

RE: Brave New Skies
To the editor:
I appreciated finding Jaye Beldo's article in the March 8 Pulse, entitled
"Brave New Skies: Is
the Government trying to control the weather?"
We
need more awareness of this issue if only for one reason: the spraying being
done by our government may explain some of the "flu-like" illnesses
people have had in recent years. After reading the material of researcher Will
Thomas (WillThomas.net),
I found that a visit I made to a hospital emergency room was most likely the
result of this spraying (of aluminum, barium, and other unknown compounds).
I had at least eight of the typical symptoms. This experience prompted me to
make a short video on the subject, as well as doing a radio show with WCCO host
Brad Walton and Will Thomas.
I have photographs taken in Minneapolis in 1997 that show chemtrails in the
sky - at a time when few people, including me, were aware. My personal belief
is that this has been going on for many years but was stepped-up in the late
1990's.
The lid is very tight on this operation and there is only speculation as to
the reasons behind it: military offense, military defense (the trails may work
in concert with radar), controlling and creating weather patterns and storms
(in conjunction with HAARP in Alaska), and slowing down the global warming process.
Local weathercasters Dave Dahl and Paul Douglas have broached the subject a
couple times but they, like all other media and government officials, have had
innocuous explanations. Will Thomas has reported that air traffic controllers
and airport employees have told him they work under a gag order.
There are many web sites to be found about chemtrail spraying. It remains
however, a story only for the alternative, underground media. The Weather Channel
and USA Today, among others, have gone out of their way to say this "spraying
conspiracy theory" is rubbish. To that I say, "just look up".
